Parking in Sanremo
Free and paid parking options
Free parking at the harbor
A local insider tip!
Via Enrico Cavagnin is located directly by the harbor of Sanremo. Important: When driving toward the marina, you will first reach the barriers of the Portosole parking area. Do not drive through the barriers; instead, take the road to the left, which leads all the way to the back.
There you will find free, unsupervised parking spaces. Access and parking spaces are quite narrow, but they can be worthwhile if you do not need your car during your stay and simply want to leave it parked. Please note that these parking spaces are not monitored.

General parking information in Sanremo
Sanremo offers numerous parking options. Along the streets, there are many blue parking zones with parking meters, which are generally paid but may be free in the evenings, at night, or on Sundays depending on the zone.
In addition, there are several central parking garages and smaller underground car parks in the city centre. The best known and largest include Autosilo Colombo and Parking Palafiori, both offering convenient and reliable parking close to the centre.
Central parking garages
Autosilo Colombo – Central underground garage in the heart of Sanremo
Located directly at Piazza Cristoforo Colombo, in the very centre of Sanremo, just a few steps from the casino, the promenade, and Teatro Ariston. Easily accessible from the SS1–Via Aurelia, well signposted and open 24 hours a day. A classic parking garage with many spaces; even during peak demand, it is often one of the most convenient options. However, the garage is rather narrow and may be challenging for larger vehicles.
The garage is barrier-free. Prices depend on duration and season and typically range around EUR 2.00–3.00 per hour for central parking garages in Sanremo, which is in line with standard city-centre rates.

Parcheggio Palafiori – Large central underground garage
Parking Palafiori is located on Corso G. Garibaldi, just a few steps from Piazza Colombo and Teatro Ariston. Access is straightforward and well signposted. The spacious underground garage offers plenty of space and is an excellent choice, especially when many parking spaces in the city centre are already occupied. It is suitable for both short stays and multi-day parking.
Porto Vecchio (Old Harbor)
Sanremo’s old harbor (“Porto Vecchio”) is a popular area for walks, restaurants, the promenade, and access to the sea. It is centrally located and easily reachable on foot from the city centre. Unlike the large central garages, there is no major underground parking facility directly at the harbor. Instead, various parking spaces and public parking zones are available nearby—ideal for visitors heading to the harbor and seafront.
Parcheggio Stazione Sanremo – Directly behind the train station
Right next to Sanremo train station, there is an underground car park at Piazza Don Orione. Located just a few steps from the railway area, it is a practical option for leaving your car for several hours or days—for example, when combining a train journey with a city visit. Prices follow standard municipal parking rates, and walking distances to the city centre and promenade are short.
